The Lake at Barns Mill

Life at Barns Mill Lake naturally gathers around the water. The lake serves as the community’s centerpiece, featuring a walking path, a lighted fountain, and a quiet swing overlooking the water. Whether you’re taking a stroll, pausing as the fountain lights up in the evening, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, it’s a space that invites you to slow down and take it all in.

From the very beginning, the lake has played a central role in the neighborhood. Created during the community’s development in the mid-1980s, it was designed to bring both beauty and purpose to the landscape during a time of growth in East Cobb. Over the years, it has remained a constant presence—shaping not just the look of the neighborhood, but the everyday rhythm of life within it. Today, the lake continues to be a shared space where residents and their guests can walk, relax, and connect, carrying forward the same sense of calm and community it was built to inspire.

While enjoying the lake, residents are encouraged to let the Board know if they notice anything that needs attention, such as damaged amenities, fallen trees, broken bridge components, or other maintenance concerns. A quick note helps us address issues sooner and keep the lake area safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone.

Lake Access

Much of the land surrounding the lake is privately owned by individual homeowners. To respect private property rights, please use only the designated entrances located at the two common areas of Barns Mill Lake.
